What the chart counts

Each bar stands for one number. Taller bars came up more often in the period loaded by the game selector. People call the tallest ones "hot" and the shortest ones "cold".

What hot and cold really mean

Hot and cold describe the past only. Over a short run of draws, random results always look uneven. Over many draws, the bars tend to even out. Neither pattern tells you what comes next.

How to use it sensibly

• Use it to explore history, the way you would look at old sports scores.
• If you like a rule for choosing, such as mixing hot and cold numbers, fine, but know it does not change the odds.
• Pair it with the trend line to see whether a number was busy recently or long ago.
